The Feibao 8-Pack Candle Set Made My Loft Feel Like a Real Home

11:28 | 04/05/2026

Scented Candles for Home, 8 Pack Soy Wax Candle Set, Aromatherapy Candles, Amber Jar Vintage Apothecary Style, 8 Scents Gift Set

It was one of those gray Chicago Sundays where the sky just refuses to lift. I'd been shuffling around my 580 square feet in socks, trying to make the place feel less like a holding pen and more like somewhere I actually wanted to be. I lit one of these Feibao amber jar candles almost on a whim, and somewhere between the first flicker and the second cup of tea, the room shifted. That's the only word for it.

If you've been eyeing this set, you can find it on Amazon here. I've been sitting with these candles for a while now, and I have thoughts, including the parts that didn't quite win me over.

Honest gripes

Let me get into this first, because it matters. The candles are small. I don't know the exact ounce weight since Amazon doesn't list it clearly, but at up to 25 hours of burn time per candle, you're not getting a slow-burn statement piece that anchors a room for weeks. For everyday rotation across eight scents, that's fine. But if you're imagining one of these as a centerpiece candle you nurse through a whole season, it's not that.

I also found the scent throw a bit modest on a couple of them. Burned in a small space like mine, most of the eight scents do their job. In a larger, open-plan room, I suspect a few of the lighter fragrances would get swallowed whole. Honest warning there.

And the labeling, while charming, is minimal. You're identifying scents mostly by smell and memory after the first burn. It's a small thing, but I'd love a printed scent card in the box.

Where it shines

The amber jar design is genuinely lovely. I wasn't expecting to care this much about the vessels, but here we are. They've got that thick-glass, apothecary-bottle look that photographs beautifully and, more importantly, reads well on a shelf in person. In a small loft where every object on a surface is doing double duty as decor, that matters enormously. These don't look like an eight-pack of discount candles. They look considered.

The soy wax and cotton wick combination burns cleanly. I'm sensitive to synthetic-heavy smoke in a small space, and I didn't notice any of the headachey quality I sometimes get from paraffin candles. The flame stays even, the wax pools cleanly, and I haven't had a single tunneling issue on the ones I've burned through so far.

Having eight different scents is also genuinely useful, not just a gimmick. I reach for different ones depending on the mood I'm building. Something woodsy when I want the apartment to feel grounded. Something citrus-forward when I'm trying to wake up a slow morning. It's a low-effort way to shift the feeling of a room without rearranging a single piece of furniture, which, in 580 square feet, is kind of everything.

As a gift, this set is a strong move. The packaging is clean and presentable enough that I wouldn't feel the need to rewrap it. Housewarming, birthday, a just-because, it works across the board. Check the current listing here if you're shopping for someone specific.

What I noticed first

Unboxing this set, the amber jars caught me immediately. Against a white countertop, that warm honey-brown glass has a quiet richness to it. There's something about the apothecary aesthetic that doesn't feel trend-dependent, it just looks like something that belongs in a well-kept home. I arranged six of them on my windowsill and they looked like they'd always been there.

The scents themselves smell true, not synthetic or aggressively perfumed. I've burned candles that smell like a department store beauty counter, cloying and one-note. These don't do that. Each one has a little nuance to it. I can't promise every single one will be your favorite, but the variety means at least a few will land for almost anyone.

The cotton wicks are centered, which sounds like a small thing until you've dealt with an off-center wick that tunnels straight down and wastes half the wax. I noticed this immediately, and it told me the candles were made with at least a baseline of care.

If you're a small-space person trying to make a room feel intentional without a huge investment, this set is worth a real look. Grab it on Amazon and spend a gray Sunday the right way.

I keep coming back to that first Sunday. A good candle doesn't fix a hard day, but it does something quieter and maybe more useful, it makes the space around you feel like it's on your side. That's what I want from my home, and this set has earned a permanent spot on my windowsill., Noor
